User Interface: Compare Files Tool

The following tools are available in the Compare Files tool.

Color filter

View the artwork with a single color separation or multiple separations. For more information, see View Color Separation of an Artwork.

Change compare mode to toggle

If displayed, you are currently comparing the files in side by side mode. Click to change the compare mode to toggle.

Side by side mode includes the following viewing options:

  • View the highlighted differences between the first and second selected files
  • Automatically toggle between the first and second selected files

Change compare mode to side by side

If displayed, you are currently comparing the files in toggle mode. Click to change the compare mode to side by side.

Toggle mode includes the following viewing options:

  • View the first selected compare file (c 1)
  • View the second selected compare file (c 2)
  • View the highlighted differences between the first and second selected files
  • View an animated toggle between the first and second selected files

Rotate

Rotate the artwork 90° with each click. Useful for viewing panels on box artworks.

Zoom in

Zoom to a specific area by clicking and then clicking and dragging diagonally to draw a square – this will be the zoom selection.

Fit to window / Zoom out

Scale the artwork image to fit within the window.

Toggle annotations

Close or open all current annotations in one click if the view of the artwork is obscured by existing annotations.

Note: You can configure whether annotations are opened or closed by default in DaVinci Preferences.

Annotate

Add a note and an indication of the area being noted using any of the following:

Circle

 Square

Freehand

Arrow

Indicate more than one area with one note. To use, click , mark all the areas on the image, and then press Enter to display the annotation.

Highlight: Draw a semi-transparent box to highlight an area.

Preference

Configure your preferences for DaVinci. For more information, see Set DaVinci User Preferences.

Print

Get an output of the artwork in a PDF file including annotations, if selected. Note that this is not the uploaded PDF but a DaVinci output only (i.e., no layers, spot colors, etc). The PDF is automatically downloaded to your browser.

View Pages

Navigate pages in the artwork.
