Advanced Options for QuickLabel Devices

If the Family selected is QuickLabel and a specific model is selected, then only options appropriate to that model are displayed. For more information about drivers and Loftware Spectrum®, see Managing Devices.

Image Regions	The number of regions of the label image to send to the device individually.	1 to 10 image regions per label Default: 5
Color Correct	Whether to apply a color management profile to the output of the device. Note: This option is displayed only if Satin Synthetic is selected for Media Type in the Media tab.	: Off (Default) : On
Rendering Intent	The type of color adjustment to apply. For more information, refer to your QCPL device documentation. Note: This option is displayed only if Color Correct is selected.	Perceptual: Compress both in and out-of-gamut colors until all colors can be represented by the device. All colors are changed equally and the relationship between each color is maintained, however in-gamut colors may significantly differ from their original tone. Relative Colorimetric: Scale the white point of the source image to match the white point of the target space, and then map out-of-gamut colors to the closest in-gamut color. All colors maintain the same relationship to white, but in-gamut colors differ from their original color and gradation problems may occur. (Default) Absolute Colorimetric: Map out-of-gamut colors to the closest in-gamut color. Only out-of-gamut colors are altered, but the relationship between in and out-of-gamut colors is not maintained which may result in large "flat" looking areas, or areas with sudden, coarse tonal gradations. Saturation: Convert saturated simple colors in the source space to the same saturated basic colors in the print space and ignore any differences in hue and lightness. Saturation rendering is recommended for images with basic colors and is not recommended for photographs.
Special Paper	When the stock type is Mark and the device is calibrated for Top of Form (TOF), whether special paper is used. Allows for correct printing on Reflective media. Note: This option is displayed only if Mark is selected for Stock Type in the Media tab.	: Off (Default) : On
Diagnostics	Whether to turn on diagnostics for troubleshooting.	: Off (Default) : On
Diagnostics Directory	Specifies the folder where debug images for the label are stored. Note: This option is available only if Diagnostics is selected.
Send Device Options	Whether to send device options configured in Spectrum to the device, or to use the device options configured on the device. When this check box is cleared, the options that are configured on the device are disabled in Spectrum.	: Use device options configured on the device. : Send all device options configured in Spectrum to the device. (Default)

Device Contact

Spectrum can contact devices to request information. For each device, you can configure how long Spectrum waits for a response and whether Spectrum repeats the request if no response is received.

Note: These options are applied only when On-Demand Status or a business rule prompts Spectrum to request detailed status from a device. These options are not used when performing periodic device status checks.

Read Retry Attempts Source	When Spectrum requests information from a device and does not receive a response, you can specify the maximum number of times that Spectrum should repeat the request. If the maximum number of retry attempts is made without receiving a response, Spectrum reports an error. This option allows you to configure whether the number of retry attempts is managed via a global setting or a value that you customize for this device. Tip: You can view the value of the global setting in System by clicking System Properties. For Namespace, enter deviceManagement to filter the list, and then view the system key named connection.readRetry.count.	Use Global Setting: The maximum number of retry attempts is specified by a global system key. (Default) Custom Value: The Read Retry Attempts option is displayed and overrides the global setting.
Read Retry Attempts	The maximum number of times that Spectrum should repeat a request to the device. Note: This option is displayed only if Read Retry Attempts Source is set to Custom Value.	0 to 10 retry attempts Default: 3
Read Wait Time Source	When Spectrum requests information from a device, you can specify how long Spectrum waits to receive a response from the device before repeating the request or reporting an error. This option allows you to configure whether the wait time is managed via a global setting or a value that you customize for this device. Tip: You can view the value of the global setting in System by clicking System Properties. For Namespace, enter deviceManagement to filter the list, and then view the system key named connection.readWait.time_msec. The value is in milliseconds.	Use Global Setting: The wait time is specified by a global system key. (Default) Custom Value: The Read Wait Time option is displayed and overrides the global setting.
Read Wait Time	How long Spectrum should wait to receive a response from the device before repeating the request or reporting an error. Note: This option is displayed only if Read Wait Time Source is set to Custom Value.	100 to 9999ms Default: 1000ms

Read Retry Attempts Source

When Spectrum requests information from a device and does not receive a response, you can specify the maximum number of times that Spectrum should repeat the request. If the maximum number of retry attempts is made without receiving a response, Spectrum reports an error.
